The one day Congo gorilla tour takes you to Kahuzi biega national park to track the lowland gorillas. Lowland gorillas differ slightly from the Mountain Gorillas, with the mountain gorillas being less physically built because of the nature of their mountainous habitats. This one day safari starts from Rwanda before proceeding to the Democratic Republic of Congo for gorilla tracking and later return to Rwanda after the exercise.

1 Day Lowland Gorilla Tracking

Itinerary Details

In the morning, you will embark on the journey to track the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National park. Upon crossing the Congo border and reaching the Kahuzi Biega park headquarters, you will be briefed about the gorilla tracking exercise by the park rangers/guide. The gorilla trek in Kahuzi Biega lasts between 1 to 5 hours. As compared to tracking mountain gorillas, it’s quite easier for you to meet larger lowland gorilla families since the lowland gorillas always stay in large packs which makes the safari quite appealing. After the Gorilla tour, you will be returned to Rwanda.
