Detailed Itinerary for 8 Days Serengeti Wildlife and Bwindi Gorilla Trek Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Depending on your time of arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your driver guide from Explore Rwanda Tours.
Day 2- Day 3: Game drives in Serengeti National Park
Have early breakfast, get parked lunch and go for a full day game drive we start from far North around the Mara river in case you came on the opposite month, when the migration will start from Serengeti after missing it from Mara Kenya side now this will be you turn to enjoy the best. Spend the whole day looking for these animals like Hippos, Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Lions, Hyenas, Cheetahs, Antelopes, Hartebeest, zebras mention but a few.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at lodge above
Day 4: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater Area- Game Drive
After your cup of tea, have our lunch boxes and drive through the park with en route game drive to Serengeti. Visit the remarkable stop at the gorge Olduvia Gorge – one of the historical sites in the world where Dr Leaky discovered the remains of the early man, the museum is worth a visit and get to know much about our ancestral life style in Ngorongoro conservation area.
After your packed lunch, you will enjoy a game drive with Ngorongoro conservation for chances to witness the wildebeests (Calving period of the wildebeests) as they are estimated to be in Ngorongoro around this time of the year.
The migration process will be finishing in the southwards trek of Serengeti moving along the eastern edge of the Serengeti national park into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. While here, the plains are richer in nutritious grass providing the herds with the best conditions for raising their new born calves. The herds occupy the short-grass plains that spread over the lower northern slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater highlands and around Olduvai Gorge. Later evening, drive to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Crater Game Drive and Transfer back to Arusha
After breakfast, drive back to the park with your parked lunch for a morning drive down into the crater 600m down crater. It’s much famous as one of the biggest volcanic calderas in the world; it occupies over 1 million animals with all the big five including the rare black rhino present. Other animals include Lions, leopards, cheetahs, Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, zebras and others.
Later afternoon/evening, drive back to Arusha where you will arrive in the evening for have dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 6: Flight from Kilimanjaro to Kihihi Airstrip (Own booked flight)
On the sixth day of your 8 Days Serengeti wildlife and Bwindi gorilla trek safari, breakfast will be served at your hotel. You will then drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will board your flight to Kihihi Airstrip in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Upon your arrival at Kihihi airstrip, your driver guide will pick you up and drive you to your lodge for check-in and lunch. After having your lunch, spend the rest of your evening at leisure.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Certainly one of the most exciting days of your 8 Days Serengeti wildlife and Bwindi gorilla trek safari; today you will be gorilla tracking. Breakfast will be served early and lunch will be packed. The briefing is at 7 am. Your guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from 2-7 hours through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment.
Once you reach the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away. Upon completion of this magical encounter, you will drive you back to the lodge where you can relax in the afternoon or opt to go for another walk to visit one of the communities around. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge as above.

Day 8: Drive to Entebbe
On the last day of your 8 days Serengeti wildlife and Bwindi gorilla trek safari, breakfast will be served at your lodge. Check out in time and embark on your drive to Entebbe via Kampala with a stopover for lunch en route. Upon your arrival in Entebbe in the evening, your driver will drop you off at a hotel of your choice or Entebbe International Airport if you have an evening flight to catch out of Uganda.
