The 8 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari  is a thrilling safari experience that begins and concludes in Kampala/Entebbe, Uganda. During the game drives and boat cruise, you will see elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, rhinos, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, giraffes, zebras, impalas, warthogs, hippos, crocodiles, and elands, among other animals. The 8-day Uganda wildlife safari will also take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you may spend time with endangered mountain gorillas in their native environment. Detailed itinerary   

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park

According to your arrival time at Entebbe International Airport on Day 1 of the 8-day Uganda wildlife safari, you will be met by our driving guide, who will brief you on the safari before transporting you to Kibale National Park. The tour takes around 6 to 7 hours and includes an en-route lunch as well as breathtaking views of the farmlands, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations, Lake Gorge, and crater lakes, among other sights. When you arrive in Kibale National Park, you will check into the lodge for supper and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

On Day 2 of the 8-day Uganda safari, after an early breakfast, you will meet your driver guide and head to the Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a chimp trekking briefing. Following the briefing, you will be separated into groups of six, each with a chimpanzee family to walk and a park guide who is familiar with the forest’s routes. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park takes between 30 minutes and 4 hours, depending on where the chimps are found, as they tend to wander from one location to another in quest of food.

Other primates that you may see while hiking are the grey cheeked mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, l’Hoest monkeys, several bird species, and plants. Once the chimps are located, you will be permitted to spend one hour with them in their natural environment, where you will be able to learn more about their habits, see them feed, breastfeed, fight, hunt, enjoy the juveniles playing in the trees, and snap photographs and film the moments. After your face-to-face interaction with the chimps, you will return to the park headquarters, where you will meet your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will proceed on a fascinating nature walk through Bigodi swamp, where you will be able to see many bird species, monkeys, plant species, gorgeous butterflies, enjoy the cool wind, and calm your mind, among other things. After the swamp tour, you’ll return to the resort for supper and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

On the third day of your eight-day Uganda wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for a trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the route, you will see beautiful scenery, crater lakes, tea plantations, and more, and you will stop for lunch when you arrive.

After lunch, you will proceed on an afternoon wildlife drive to see creatures such as elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and a variety of bird species. Following the wildlife drive, you will return to the lodge for supper and overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive/ lion tracking and afternoon boat cruise

On day 4 of your 8-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, you will have breakfast and then meet your driver guide for a morning game drive or lion tracking excursion in the Kasenyi plains. During the game drive, you will see vast herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, and warthogs feeding on the open savannah plains, as well as predators such as lions and leopards, if you are lucky, and a variety of bird species. After the wildlife drive, you’ll head to the lodge for lunch.

Boat cruise,

After lunch, you will embark on an exhilarating boat tour around the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the 2-hour boat cruise, you will be able to see elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and warthogs drinking water along the shores, large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, water birds such as the martial eagle, papyrus Gonolek, pelicans, hornbills, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, kingfishers, and others, as well as fishermen organizing their fishing nets along the water banks. After the boat journey, you’ll return to the resort for a relaxing dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

On day 5 of the 8-day Uganda wildlife safari, after breakfast, you will check out of the accommodation and meet your driver guide for the travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On the journey, you will travel through the Ishasha sector in the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will have the opportunity to see tree climbing lions lying up in fig tree branches. After the game drive in the Ishasha sector, you will stop for lunch before continuing on to Bwindi Forest National Park, where you will check in at the lodge for leisure, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

On day 6 of your 8-day Uganda wildlife safari, after an early breakfast, you will bring your lunch box and meet your driver guide to proceed to the park headquarters for a lecture on the laws, regulations, and expectations for gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will be separated into groups of eight individuals, with each group assigned a gorilla family to walk and a park guide who is educated about mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lasts between 30 minutes and 7 hours, depending on the area, and allows you to see forest birds, other primates such as l’Hoest monkeys, baboons, plant and tree species, and so on.

Once the mountain gorillas are located, you will get the opportunity to spend one hour with them, learning more about their lifestyle, behaviors, and habits, taking photographs, watching them go about their daily routines, and recording the amazing moments to share those back home. After your stunning experience with the gentle giants, you will return to the park headquarters, where you will be issued a certificate for participation in gorilla trekking. You will then meet your guide and proceed to the lodge for an evening leisure meal and overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

On day 7 of your 8-day Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari, after a leisurely breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for the journey to Lake Mburo. On the way, you will stop for lunch before continuing on to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arriving at the park, you will go on an evening game drive to see creatures such as buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, impalas, waterbucks, topi, and warthogs, among others. Following the game drive, you will travel to the lodge for supper and stay.

Day 8: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala

On the final day of your 8-day Uganda wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet with your driver guide for a short game drive where you will be rewarded with great views of animals such as waterbucks, elands, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, topi, and giraffes, among others, grazing in open savannah plains. After the wildlife drive, you’ll leave the park and head to Kampala.

On your way back, you’ll stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for lunch before taking photographs and shopping for crafts, among other things. After lunch, you will continue your journey to Kampala, arriving in the evening. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or at any location of your choosing.
