Some of the standard operating procedures that the ministry of health  put in place for tourists to follow for a safe activity in either parks include;  access to the country  is only granted to tourists that have a negative covid-19  certificate which should have been received not more than 3 days after the test, these tourists will undergo 14 days  or a covid-19 vaccination certificate, tourists are also advised to wear their face masks during the activity, maintaining social distance during the activity to avoid the spread of the virus among the locals, the primates when you get in contact with them and tourists.

BEST TIME FOR GORILLA TREKKING IN UGANDA

Gorilla trekking in Uganda can be carried out at any given time of the year because of the favourable climate of the country. However there a seasons in the country that are most favourable for gorilla trekking because of the ease and comfort associated to access the habituated gorilla families.  During the dry season of January, February and from June to September hiking to the habituated gorilla families is quite easy because the forest is not slippery as compared to the wet season but the down side of the dry season is the fact that the gorillas tend to move a lot in the park searching for food because of its scarcity making the activity tiresome but not forgetting you’ll have an amazing experience as you spend an hour with them.

 During the rainy or wet season that is March, April and May food for the gorillas is readily available and by this you can see a number of wild berries and many other types of fruit that the primates can feed on limiting their movement and by this you can easily access the gorilla families however during the wet season the forests and mountains tend to be impenetrable and slippery which makes the activity quite tiresome but after the hard part you’ll get to spend an hour with the gorillas observing them for an amazing experience.
