4 Days Mount Kenya Tour

On Day 1 of your 4-day Mount Kenya tour, you will be met at your hotel by your driver-guide from our company. Set off from Nairobi early morning by 7 am and transfer to Mount Kenya, where, upon your arrival at the Sirimon park gate, you will converge for a briefing from the park warden. You will have an opportunity to hire some porters from here if you need any help with your luggage. Have lunch at the Sirimon Gate and proceed with your 9km hike to Old Moses, which is situated at an elevation of 3,300 meters above sea level. You will have a stopover at Sirimon George, where you will rest and take some photos of the beautiful scenery around. This hike to Old Moses camp takes approximately 3 hours. Camp at Old Moses Camp and later have your dinner.

After having breakfast at your camp, you will commence your hike to Shipton, which is elevated at an altitude of 4200meters. The hike takes you on a 14-kilometer trail and takes approximately 8 hours. You will have a break for lunch at a designated rest point and later proceed with your hike to Shipton’s Camp overlooking the three beautiful peaks of Batian, Lenana, and Nelion. Here you will set up camp for the night and later have dinner.

Have breakfast very early today and depart your camp at around 3 am. You will be guided along a rough, stony trail leading to Lenana Peak. You will arrive at Lenana peak at around 6-7 am, depending on your hiking pace. Later descend to Shipton for breakfast and later trek back to Old Moses with a stop for lunch. The hike from Lenana Peak to Shiptons takes about 5 kilometers, and from Shiptons to Old Moses is roughly 14 kilometers. Arrive at Old Moses Camp in the evening and camp for the night. Dinner will be served at your camp.

Start your day with breakfast early morning at around 7 am and start your descent back to Sirimon base, where you will find your driver guide waiting for you. Embark on your return journey to Nairobi with a stopover for lunch en route. Upon your arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
