The national park is home to over 1500 chimpanzees and other primates found at the destination include black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, L’hoest monkeys among others.

Chimpanzee permits for trekking in Kibale forest national park cost 250 USD per person for foreign nonresidents, 200 USD for foreign residents and 180,000 Uganda shillings for East African citizens visiting the national park.

For the chimpanzee habituation permits in Kibale forest national park, foreign nonresidents are charged a fee of 300 USD, 250 USD for foreign residents and 250,000 Uganda shillings for East African citizens visiting the destination.

When visiting Kibale forest national park, many other activities can be done during the primate tours and they include guided nature walks, bird watching tours, and community tours. There are also different butterfly species which can be seen around the forest.

Different routes can be used to get to Kibale forest during the chimpanzee tours in Uganda and they include the Kampala-Fort portal route which takes about 5 to 6 hours of driving.

Cost of chimpanzee permits in Budongo forest

Chimpanzee tours in the Budongo forest take place in the morning and can also be done in the afternoon during tours in Uganda.

The morning chimpanzee trekking experience in Budongo forest starts at 07:00 am and the afternoon search for the chimpanzees at the destination takes place around 02:00 pm.

The Budongo forest is part of Murchison falls conservation area and is one of the large tropical rainforests found in the country where chimpanzees can be seen in their natural habitat. Permits for chimpanzee trekking at the destination are also issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

The drive to Budongo forest takes about 4 hours from Kampala and tourists can access it via the Kichumbanyobo gate in the southern part of Murchison Falls National Park. the forest is located in the north western part of Uganda.

Cost of chimpanzee permits in Kyambura gorge

The chimpanzee trekking experience in Queen Elizabeth national park is done around the Kyambura gorge in the southwestern part of Uganda.

Chimpanzee permits in the Kyambura gorge cost 100 USD for foreign nonresidents, 80 USD for foreign residents and 50,000 Uganda shillings for East African citizens.  The permits are also issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

The Kyambura gorge consists of tropical rainforests where the chimpanzees can be seen during tours in Uganda. Many other primates and different bird species are also found at the destination and they include black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys among others.

Activities which are done around the Kyambura gorge apart from chimpanzee trekking include guided nature walks around different trails like the fig tree trail, as well as hiking and also bird watching tours among other activities.

Tourists can get to the Kyambura gorge by driving for about 5 to 6 hours from Kampala.
