3 Days Mount Nyiragongo Hike

On day one of your 3 Days Mount Nyiragongo Hike, at a location of your choice in Kigali city, your guide for the safari will pick you up and before he transfers you to virunga national park, you will take part in a briefing session of your safari, the rules and regulations, the activities to take part in and after the session you will make your way to the Grande barrier border crossing by 10:30 am and ensure check in with virunga tourism office by 11:15 am. At the tourism office, you will be provided with the gorilla trekking permits, Mount Nyiragongo hike permit, which you will present to your guides in order to take part in the different activities while in the park. After check in completion, you will be transported to Mikeno lodge in virunga national park and upon arrival, you will have your late and later in the afternoon transfer to  Rumangabo where you will take part in the nature walks along the different trails in the park where you will get to see a number rewarding attractions like numerous bird species, primates species among other rewarding attractions. Later on, transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay as you await the next day’s activities.  

On day 2 of your 3 Days Mount Nyiragongo Hike, after an early morning breakfast at your hotel with your packed lunch, your guide will transfer you to the Kibati Ranger Post to embark on your Mount Nyiragongo hike. On arrival at Kibati, you will take part in the briefing session of the activity, and after the session, you will take part in the activity, which takes about four to six hours to get to the summit. On reaching the summit, you will have amazing views of the lava lake, where you will see lava boiling underneath the earth’s crust. After the safari, you will have an overnight stay at the summit of the park.

On day 3 of your 3 Days Mount Nyiragongo Hike, after an early morning breakfast while at the summit, you will leave the crater rim and descend back to Kibati. On reaching Kibati, you will be transported back to Goma and continue to Kigali drop off. Alternatively on reaching Kigali city, you can participate in the Kigali city tour where you will get to visit memorable sites like the Kigali genocide memorial museum where you will get to understand the events that led to the occurrence of the Rwanda genocide, you will also get to visit the Kimironko market the largest market in Rwanda where you will get to purchase souvenirs, organic fruits, Rwanda traditional attires among other products. At the climax of your Kigali city tour, you will get to visit one of the restaurants in the city, where you will have tasty Rwanda dishes, marking the end of your safari.
