3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Big 5 Safari

Pickup from your hotel in Kigali and transfer to Akagera National Park. It’s approximately a 2-3 hours’ drive from Kigali to Akagera National Park. Upon your arrival in the park, you will embark on a full day game drive as you search for the Big Five; lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and cape buffalo. Other wildlife animals to look out for during your game drives include; antelopes, giraffes, zebras and so many more. Lunch and dinner will be served at your lodge inside the park.

After having your breakfast in the morning, head out for a morning game drive before exiting the park. You will embark on about a 4 hour’s drive to Volcanoes National Park with a stopover for lunch en route. Upon your arrival in Volcanoes National Park, you will visit Ibyi’wacu village for a cultural tour. Get a chance to interact with locals, visit the former king’s palace, dress in traditional Rwandan attire, and participate in folk dances with the locals.

Later retire to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Have breakfast early in the morning from your lodge and drive to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then begin your hike into the forest in search for mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park takes between 1-6 hours or more, depending on their location. After your gorilla trek, head back to base where you will find your driver guide waiting for you. Have lunch and embark on your return journey to Kigali. Drop off will be at your hotel or Kigali International Airport.
