Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

On day one of your 3 days gorilla trekking in Uganda during covid-19,   depending on your location in Kampala, our guide will pick you give you a briefing sessions of your safari, the rules and regulations to follow and after you will embark on your journey to the home of half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas Bwindi impenetrable national park. During your transfer, you will pass through different towns like Lukaya where the aroma of roasted meat will hit you and if interested you can have a taste of the locally cooked meat, you will also have another stop over at Kayabwe where you will have the equator experience where you will pose at the equator and experiments of the north and southern hemispheres will be carried out where you will find out that at that particular place, you are in both the northern and the southern hemisphere.  Lunch will be served at Igongo cultural centre, an amazing traditional centre where you will be able to see the evolution of the Ugandan culture for instance money, dress code and a number of other attraction. After lunch at the Igongo cultural centre, you will proceed your way through Kabale where you will visit Lake Bunyonyi the deepest lake in Uganda. At the lake you will take part in the boat ride at the lake where you will also visit the different islands with their unique history. From the lake, you will proceed on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will check in your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking 

On day two your 3 days gorilla trekking in Uganda during covid-19, after an early morning breakfast at your hotel, with your packed lunch, you will embark on your journey to take part in gorilla trekking. Depending on your permit, you will transfer to the sector where the gorilla family you’re going to trek is. The activity will involve you hiking through the rugged terrain and on locating and coming into contact with the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them and here you can take pictures of them, watch how they groom one another, how they live amongst one another which is quite interesting to watch. After the one hour with the gorillas is done you will then embark on your Batwa trail experience (optional) where you will meet an exciting group of people the Batwa who are were originally forest people that survived on forest products.  These are mainly hunters who hunt small living creatures of the wild and collect fruit as a source of food. The encounter with the interesting group of people will offer memorable experiences. Alternatively, you can also participate in nature walks on the different trails in the park where you will come across different attractions like the numerous bird species, primate species and the peaks of the Virunga Mountains. After the activities, you will proceed to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Batwa trail experience and departure

On day 3 of your 3 days gorilla trekking in Uganda during covid-19, two after an early morning breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel and transfer back to Kampala, through Mbarara town, you will have a stop over to have lunch at the Igongo cultural centre where you will visit the craft shop and you can buy some take at home souvenirs. In Kampala, a city tour will be carried out where you will visit places like Nakasero market one of the oldest market in Uganda, you can also visit the kabaka’s lake, the Buganda parliament, the royal mile, the king’s palace the heritage sites in Buganda kingdom. After the tour, our guide will drop you at the location of your choice in kampala city or Entebbe international airport and the end of your trip.
