Macheo Eco Lodge & Camping – Rwanda : Macheo eco lodge and camping can be used as both budget and mid range accommodation found in Kibuye , Bwishyura sector on the shores of lake kivu ( the six largest lake in Africa) in the western province of Rwanda country. The lodge is close to kamembe, 41 mile from Macheo Ecolodge . The lodge offers camping tents for the campers.
One can either be at lodge by road transport which takes approximately 3 hours from Kigali and 30 minutes flight from Kigali international airport) then some few minutes from the border with the Democratic republic of Congo and city of Goma. The lodge is convenient and business friendly to guests visiting Rwanda with its breath taking views of the lake , stunning garden and surrounding areas .
Macheo eco lodge is comprised of over 10 spacious and comfortable rooms with the view of lake kivu reflecting traditional Rwanda building style with woods . There are also camp tents for the guests who like camping (campers always come with their safari essentials and sometimes with their parked meals ). All rooms have en suite private facilities like clean flushing toilets, mosquito nets, separate hot and cold shower , television and other facilities. Rooms have balconies and verandas to relax in while enjoying the fantastic view of the lake Kivu and surrounding area.
There are fire places at the camp where you relax and jazz with fellow guests about the safari , it also provides warmth to visitors during cold nights . Rooms are in different categories; single ,double and triple rooms with costs ranging 100$ per night and above and sometimes price goes slightly high during peak season.

Lake Kivu is the largest of Rwanda’s freshwater lakes and 15th deepest lake in the world. The lake occupies 2,700 square km, and lies at 4,790 feet( 1,460mile ) above the sea level. The lake flows southwards in Lake Tanganyika and it lies in the albertline rift ( western branch of the east African rift) on the border of DRC and Rwanda. It is also home to the world’s tenth-largest inland island, Idjwi, while settlements on its shore include Bukavu, Kabare, Kalehe, Sake and Goma in Congo and Gisenyi, Kibuye and Cyangugu in Rwanda.
You can stay in Kivu and also visit Congo. its just few hours drive from Kivu to congo. Rwanda is a small land locked country found in Central/ eastern Africa, Bordering democratic republic of Congo, Uganda in the North , Tanzania in the east and Burundi in the south. Rwanda is the 46th largest country covering a total area of 26, 798KM. Kigali is the capital city of Rwanda and is found at the centre of Rwanda. You can visit Rwanda any time but its best to be there in dry season.

The best time to Track Chimpanzees in Rwanda is in rainy season from mid February to early June and from September to December and gorillas is from Feb to March, July, August, September , October and mid December.
