Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania, you will be met by your driver from Explore Rwanda Tours and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Upon your arrival at the hotel, check in and refresh yourself before spending the rest of your evening at leisure. Dinner will be served at your hotel.

Day 2-3: Explore Serengeti National Park

Days 2 and 3 will have you exploring the beautiful savannah plains of Serengeti National Park. Start your morning with a hearty breakfast meal before checking out of your hotel in Arusha and embarking on your journey to Serengeti National Park. (If you wish to cut down on the long drive, which is approximately 6 hours, you can opt for a domestic flight to the park. Prior booking is required if you want the flying option). Upon your arrival in Serengeti in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the central part of the park, where you will get a chance to see a variety of wildlife such as lions, buffalo, elephants, hartebeest, Sitatunga, and many more.

Day 3 is packed with a game drive in the park, which gives you a chance to look out for any wildlife animals that you might not have seen on your previous game drive. (Also, please note that you can do an optional Hot Air Balloon tour early morning if you wish to explore the park from the skies. The Hot Air Balloon tour is one of the breathtaking experiences that you can ever have while visiting Serengeti National Park. It offers you stunning views of the park from the sky while staring below at wildlife freely roaming the park, and not to mention that getting to watch the sunrise over the horizon as you float in the sky is truly a moment to be lived while visiting the park).

Later, drive to your lodge or camp in the evening and refresh. Dinner will be served.

Day 4-5: Game Viewing in Masai Mara-Kenya

Day 4 will have you waking up to your final morning in Serengeti. Enjoy freshly made breakfast and then check out of your lodge or camp. Embark on your drive to Maasai Mara in Kenya, crossing the border at Isebania. (If you wish to cut on the long drive, you can fly from Serengeti Airstrip to Mara, depending on which accommodation you will be staying at).

The game drives in Maasai Mara are legendary! Explore the Mara plains and its stunning wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, leopards, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and cheetah, among others. After a full day of game viewing, return to your lodge or camp and relax for the rest of your evening. (If you wish to have a night game, this can be arranged with prior notice. Night game drives in the Maasai Mara offer you an opportunity to spot nocturnal animals, and if you are lucky, you might just witness predators hunting prey).

Savor a hearty meal under the beautifully lit African night sky.

Day 6: Fly to Entebbe, Uganda

After having a delicious breakfast meal, check out of your lodge and head to the airstrip, where you will board a flight to Nairobi. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you will fly to Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by your driver and proceed to your hotel. Settle into your room, refresh, and spend the rest of your evening relaxing or exploring Entebbe city.

Day 7-9: Bwindi Forest National Park- Gorilla Trekking

On Day 7, after having your breakfast, you will embark on a 10-12-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Flying option from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip in Bwindi or Kisoro is available if you wish to cut out the long drive). Driving to Bwindi meant a long drive, but it was very scenic, with opportunities to stopover at the Equator monuments in Kayabwe and the Igongo Cultural Center, among others. You will also get to view the stunning plains of Kigezi that feature well-terraced hills and local communities with friendly locals.

On Day 8, after having breakfast very early in the morning, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing before you head into the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of your gorilla family. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi can take between 4 and 6 hours or more, depending on the location of the gorilla family you have been assigned to. You will be given an hour to spend with the gorillas. (If you wish to spend up to four hours with these majestic creatures, you can opt for gorilla habituation instead).

On Day 9, you will have breakfast and check out of your lodge. You will drive back to Kampala/Entebbe, or if you are flying, you will fly back to Entebbe and then transfer to your hotel, where you will rest and spend your day at leisure.
