Batwa trail experience

The Batwa trail experience is another rewarding activity in Bwindi impenetrable national park that will ensure your Uganda safari is worth all the time spent planning for it.  The Batwa in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can be accessed when you participate in the hike through the Buhoma sector area of the park. Experience the first keepers of the forests that co-existed with the animals of the forests.  

The Batwa have an interesting story to tell about their time in the forest, originally the Batwa where forest keepers who spent their lives depending on the forest as they co-existed with one another. They depended on forest products for food like the wild berries, squirrels among other creatures in the park before they were evicted from the forest for conservation purposes. Today you can go on the Batwa trail experience where you will be taken through the trail by a guide explaining the culture of the Batwa and at the end of the tour, you will visit the Batwa communities where you will see their lifestyles after their eviction from the park.

Hiking

The forest has a number of hiking trails that are believed to have been established by the early inhabitants of the forests that is the Batwa pygmies that used the hiking trails to access the different sectors in the park where they can find the different attractions in the park.

Village walks
